Quick question: What type of unit have I got in Kyoto? There isn't one on the map.

Geography Clarifications:

1) can fleets move directly from PHIL to SULU ?
2) conversely, is there a land connection from LUZ to MIN?
3) is there a land bridge from MAL to JAV?
4) is there a land bridge from TOH to SAP?
5) where is the "SAMARA" canal -- I can't find on the map?
6) does KAB have a border with URQ?

I'm assuming that KAB is connected to URQ. That would be accurate. And SAM is the southern Russian territory between the Black and Caspian Seas. I believe that the canal there is not accurate.

The canal is accurate. There is one there, between a river that connects to the black sea and a river that connects to the caspain. It is currently in use.

Are we supposed to be like actively doing diplomacy though, or just submitting orders for our turns? Like are we simulating the actual beginning of a game?

1) can fleets move directly from PHIL to SULU ?
No

2) conversely, is there a land connection from LUZ to MIN?
Yes

3) is there a land bridge from MAL to JAV?
No

4) is there a land bridge from TOH to SAP?
No

5) where is the "SAMARA" canal -- I can't find on the map?
I haven't put that canal in graphically, but it does apply (Its called the Volga-Don Canal)

6) does KAB have a border with URQ?
Yes, it does

Note that all 'No' answers could be changed in future if its deemed to be best for the board

Actual Diplomacy is advised, but, especially in the earlier tests, not compulsary.

Please be aware that I am now GMing THREE games. This means titles must be explicit and include the game name, for example:

World Dip: Europe Fall 1903 Orders

Anything like 'Fall orders' risks not being processed, even if I send a 'received' message.
