Congratulations to Carthage (Maucat) for his solo victory in The Struggle for Rome 2!

Here is the final map:

Now that the carnage is over I would like to hear everyone's opinions about the game and the map and what improvements they think it needs.

Feel free to just reply to this thread and hopefully we can make the game better.

My initial thoughts are that there are not enough centers in the northern half of the board.

If you divide up the board north-south there are 3 nations for each section. But the southern half has way more centers to grab.

I am willing to hear any suggestions so keep throwing at me.

Tooth,

Love the map.

I think if you want to improve it, I would suggest to add a one-territory depth to the northern end of the board. You could also include one more territory in the west: something from eastern Spain would be good. It would give Gaul a good boost. If you threw in two more SCs in your newly-added northern territories (perhaps one that is considered "Dalmatian", and another that Gaul and Dalma could contend over), it could bring some pressure off of Julii, allowing him to be more prone to buidling a fleet to take Sardinia. And it would just give him some breathing room, too.

After taking over as Julii, I took a look over the way the game had progressed that far. I have to agree with Niakan; the pressure on Julii from the start is really high. There should be a couple of territories for the northern powers to vent off some steam before needing to push Julii. It could really help diplomatic attempts from the Julli side, I think.
