Geography/Rules question:

Can convoys pass through fleets sitting on "island" territories?

e.g., Army SFR move to FIJ via fleets in W.COAST, C. CURRENT, HAW & EQ. COUNTERCURRENT ?

I was wondering the same thing. If I had to guess, I'd say probably not, since islands seem to be nothing more than a coastal territory that is adjacent to nothing but water. I would like to hear what the GM has to say, though.
The enemy's gate is down.

Don't go thinkin' you so bad jes cuz you was in SOLDIER.

We've always been at war with Eastasia.

And I was assuming "Yes" precisely because they are completely surrounded by (and mostly consist of) water.

It would be very odd to place Hawaii (for example) as a hub for sea commerce, then not let commerce pass through...

I will permit it

You also may or may not be aware that fleets can travel directly from the Black Sea to the Aegean Sea if you control Constantinople

Do you mean in 1 move?!?! As in: BLACK - move - AEGEAN

Or 2 moves, like standard Dip: BLACK - move - CON, followed by CON - move - AEGEAN

In one move. I think I've mentioned it before.

There's a can of worms here unless we clear up the status of 'island'. Places such as Sumatra, Ceylon or Luzon could claim to be islands, with a fair degree of justice.

I assume the GM intends the convoying rule to be confined to 'island groups' - ie those shown by a group of dots on the map, and that bigger islands (even Singapore) don't count. Is this right?

Just wanting to be clear
