Rules and FAQ Thread

Postby Jobson15 » 15 Apr 2010, 22:14

Rules:

OFF-BOARD MOVES: The legal off-board to off-board moves for this variant are listed below. To clarify, a fleet in obc is allowed to move to obd. Likewise, a Fleet in Morroco can move to obd, and a fleet in East Africa can move to obg. Fleets may not move into obe or obf, as they are considered land-locked. In the same way, armies can only be present in the African off-board zones.

oba goes to obb, obl
obb goes to oba, obc, obk, obl
obc goes to obb, obd, obh, obi, obj, obk
obd goes to obc, obe, obf, obg
obe goes to obd, obg
obf goes to obd, obg
obg goes to obd, obe, obf, obh
obh goes to obc, obg, obi
obi goes to obc, obh
obj goes to obc, obk
obk goes to obb, obc, obj, obl
obl goes to oba, obb, obk

THE SUEZ: The Suez is a water territory contained within Egypt. It is adjacent to the Eastern Mediterranean, the Red Sea and the north and east coasts of Egypt. It is not adjacent to either coast of Jordan. Jordan's north coast is adjacent to Egypt's north coast and Jordan's west coast is adjacent to Egypt's east coast. Other units can move between Egypt and Jordan whether or not there is a fleet in the Suez and fleets can move into the Suez whether or not there is a unit present in Egypt. Fleets in the Suez can convoy armies.

IMPASSIBLE AREAS: No unit may enter Switzerland or the Himalayas. The body of water in the center of the map is the Caspian Sea and is intentionally left unlabelled and cannot be entered. No unit may enter the zone marked "Impassable" north of Russia. Fleets may move along the coast of Omsk as they did have icebreakers back then.

VICTORY CONDITIONS:There are a total of 72 supply centers on the board. A majority of pieces therefore would be 37 centers for victory by a single country. A draw may also be declared by consent of all players or no exchange of supply centers for three Fall seasons.

COASTS: Provinces with coasts are: Spain (nc and sc), St Petersburg (nc and sc), Bulgaria (ec and sc), Thailand (ec and wc), Egypt (nc and ec), Jordan (nc and sc) and Nej (ec and wc).

So far the only Playdip player to survive an attack by armies, fleets and an ax.

So just to clarify in my own mind, Jordan and Eygpt do not have separate coasts?

Sorry, actually they do. I'd just copied and pasted the rules, and they weren't included for some reason (neither was Nej). The first post has been edited to include them.

Is this build anywhere? Only original home centers?

Only home SCs. European powers can build in 'colonial' scs, eg. Eng can build in Joh, Italy in Mag, etc.
