Rule Clarification

Postby relindwto6 » 21 Aug 2020, 09:05

New to the game and trying to get a firm grasp on the rules before i get a group together to play. I need some help with a 2 on 1 situation.

Russia A Bud-Vie A Gal S A Bud-Vie

Ottoman A Vie-Bud

Basically, will Vienna and Budapest switch or is Vienna displaced?

Also, what would happen if Russia had the same order but Ottoman did: A Vie-Gal ?

Thanks! This game seems great but there seems to be a lot of tricky encounters that will take time to get the hang of sorting out. I appreciate your help!

In your first example, Vie gets dislodged. The second the same, as a unit being attacked cannot alone cut the support of the unit attacking it. If it had support from Rum (eg) it would dislodge Gal and Bud would move to Vie. There is a really good feature of this site - an order solver, where you can put in a set of moves and it will tell you the outcome. You can also load a game condition into it. Third tab along on the main page.

Hope you persevere with the mechanics. It is a wonderful game, and the main emphasis is the diplomacy. And welcome to the site :D
