Surrendering

Is it O.K. to surrender when there's absolutely no hopes or it's considered downright unethical ?

You better don't surrender, because it will cause you to lose 1 point in the overall site rankings.

There's always hope!

Well, I mean, you never know. There's one game (not here, and not one I was in) where Germany was down to 2 centres and surrendered. Someone else stepped in, and changed that 2-centre Germany into an 18-centre one. And in a game I'm playing now, as Germany as well in fact, I was attacked by both England and France, and while Russia didn't directly invade they were supporting attacks from Sweden as well. But I held out out at 3 centres for a few turns, and eventually England stabbed France and I got back in the game. (Of course, it's a double victory, and no doubt Turkey and England will declare victory as soon as they can, because a lot of players here are cheap like that. :? )

I personally never surrender, but sometimes Real Life will get in the way and force you to. Surrendering when you lose one centre and decide all hope is lost, on the other hand...well, it's not so much unethical as just annoying.
