Order History query

Hello there.

I hope this is the right place to post this question. It is not a Rules question as such, but more one about the
actual games engine and history.

My friends and I are playing our very first game on the website.

The following moves occurred during Fall 1901:

===========================================================
Russia
Galicia MOVE Budapest -> Dislodged by A Budapest - Galicia

Austria
Budapest MOVE Galicia -> resolved

GERMANY
Silesia SUPPORT Budapest to Galicia -> resolved
============================================================

This resulted in a retreat being required by the Russian army in Gal.
In the retreat phase, the following was recorded in the Orders history:

RUSSIA
Galicia DESTROY -> resolved

Is it possible to determine why the Russian army in Gal was destroyed ?

Many thanks

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Either Russia ordered for the army to be destroyed or Russia didn't place an order for the dislodged unit in time and it auto destroyed.

Those I believe are the only reasons that this would happen in the game.

A player can choose to retreat or destroy the unit. Also if the player does not input any order then it is auto destroyed.

Hi Jeff-

What's the game number?

To add to what Charlie said - the army would also be destroyed if it was given an illegal retreat order.

Charlie beat me to it! Was going to say exactly that, those are the only two reasons why the retreat order would recorded as Destroy.

And sisyphus is right about other circumstances in which the OUTCOME would be a destroy. But in this case the order was RECORDED as a Destroy, and there can only be two possible reasons for that.

Found it - game 88854.

Yes in this case either a destroy order was entered, or no order was entered and the unit auto destroyed.

Wow we were all over this one! Go Team Forum.
