New Soloist game: No Carebears

Postby iowapurple » 30 Aug 2011, 19:05

I started a game called 'No Carebears' 31623 with an eye towards a game for players that understand 18 centers is the only victory criteria in Diplomacy. I have no stomach for people who feel a draw is a 'victory' ... and nothing galls me more than a 17-17 draw. Feel free to contact me for the password to this game--2 players have signed in already and 2 more have been invited, so 3-5 chairs are still open.
Please don't get me wrong, this isn't a cut-throat game where you must stab every partner, etc. etc. It's just a game for people who won't engineer the contrived 17-17 draw and a game for people who feel that 18 is way you win a Diplomacy game, with a draw being just that--a draw and nothing more. I did not realize there was a group dedicated to solo vicories before I posted the game, sorry.

By the way, I think it's odd that a group has to be created to play the game, or any game for that matter, the way it is plainly described in the rules...

There are a few diehards left.

Send the password to the other players via private message. Also, everyone take the pledge: viewtopic.php?f=124&t=15447#p207876

Just copy and paste the pledge from that link (viewtopic.php?f=124&t=15447#p207876), put your own name on it where appropriate, and post it here.

Okay...

I, 'iowapurple,' do hereby pledge, by my free will, without any duress being applied to be, and being of sound mind, in the witness of the Mods and gamers of this forum, that I will commit myself to winning this game outright to the best of my ability. Should one of the seven prove to be an Oathbreaker in this regard, I will spurn all talks of enacting a draw and will dutifully fight until no such draw can take place. Should a stalemate occur and all players agree, I will continue to seek a solo win for as long as this is possible. If it proves impossible, and all players agree, then there will be no winner for this game and I will not ever claim to have won it. I pledge to not surrender, and continue active participation in the shoutbox if I should be defeated, as I continue to have a vote in the stalemate agreement.

Take the full pledge. It's meant to be taken seriously, and gives you the whole concept of the group.
