Notice of withdrawal from the Classicists group

Postby PJL » 22 Aug 2013, 12:03

I would like to withdraw my application for membership of the Classicists due to my surrender of my games last night. Diplomacy just isn't the game for me.

Thanks.

45 finished games, consistency rate over 99%, long-standing Gold member of the group. And whatever happened last night was your one and only surrender in your three years on this site. So it would be a shame to see you go, I've played some good games with you in the past. I'll leave doing anything about this for a few days so you can see how you feel once the dust on whatever happened has settled. If you still feel the same way I'll, with regret, take your name off the list. If you want to carry on then we'll have a discussion about what happened and work out the best way forward for your membership. Take it easy!

Having shared two games with you, PJL, I hope that I will have the chance to share another.

No one is perfect & occasionally life intervenes.

The numbers you've got as far as fighting on, even if you did surrender yesterday make you a valued and deserving member of the classicists.

Please reconsider.

I have sent PJL a PM to draw attention to this thread and to suggest he reads what has been written here. He's not logged into the forum since he posted to start this thread, so I thought it would be worth a prod to get him to at least see what has been said. I'll give it another 48 hours and see what happens.

At least one of the games PJL surrendered from was an anonymous game. There is additional information to be added before any decision is made.

I'm aware of the circumstances in which he left the game. Nothing heard from PJL in response to my PM so am going to go ahead and remove his name from the membership list in accordance with his request.

Sorry for my abrupt leaving. Fact is, I was getting too involved in the whole thing, and I just had one backstab too many which broke my spirit in the game. Having said that, I shouldn't have just quit all my games without reason though. I would like to rejoin the group though, even if it means having to re-qualify.

Though I will probably take a more relaxed and laissez faire approach this time around.
