symbol for the group

i would say, we need a symbol, coat of arms perhaps, above all classicists, down there respect and "preserverancia", (did not find it in english), means so much, to hold on ever, no surrender and not missing turns subsume down this. propably a lion for force or a keep and it is open to discuss, we are democratic. would be to identify the group, separate from others and showing our intentions and it what we believe in and what we defend, belonging to this group.
iam not so fine with edit programs, to paint things and so on, so i leave it open to all the group, we could start sample many propose and then decide together.
bye

Mariscal, this sounds like a great idea! :)

Perhaps you can try and find a Classicist who is familiar with graphic design to make something. We should probably also figure out what to put on the Coat of Arms by asking the group.

part of the coat (could be divided in three or four parts) should be a quill, fountain pen or (less i like) handshake, to symbolize diplomacy

Coat of Arms

Postby DXA » 14 Sep 2011, 18:47

I don't know if anyone is still interested in this, so I hope no one minds that I'm reviving a mostly dead thread.

Anyway, I'm no graphic artist, but I do have some skill (or practice, more accurately) with image-editing, and specifically with constructing coats of arms.

For an example of arms I've made, go here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... corinthyen

Also, find more simplistic ones here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... e-thracyen

here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... ouse-doryc

and here: http://www.obsidianportal.com/campaign/ ... use-chalcy

Anyway, the point is, I would be very willing to make something similar for the Classicists. If any interested parties could post support and ideas here, I'd be happy to create a few polls to get the larger memberships' opinion on what they want included.

Artfully yours,
-DXA

EDIT: Fixed the links. I mean, nothing happened. Don't look at me!
