MaccCon October 2019

Following the success of the first MaccCon in March 2019, I am running a repeat event in early October.

Date:
Sat 5th and Sun 6th October 2019

Location:
Macclesfield, UK

Format:
As many boards as possible with the numbers, including variants where possible. We will definitely have Classic and Ancient Med maps, and hopefully Versailles too.
We will play from around 10:30 am to 5:30pm on both days.
15 minute turns and if numbers permit we'll have the most successful players from Day 1 competing on a top table on Day 2.

Other info:
In the previous event players mostly stayed at the Travelodge near Macclesfield rail station. An easy walk from the venue and pretty affordable.
Lunch will be provided at the venue, and on Saturday evening we will go out for a meal and drinks (not compulsory!)

I need to confirm numbers to the venue, so please let me know asap if you can attend.

I will try my best to be there, together with two of my Lichfield friends Jacky and Andy, if work doesn't interfere!

For those of you who dont know Macclesfield it is actually very accessible. A train from london takes 1:45 and costs on an open return c£90. Train from Manchester is 20 mins (so if you are flying in that works too). It's quite a small place so you arent having to get loads of taxi etc, the hotel where we stayed last time (travelodge) is 3 mins walk from the station, and about 10-15 to the venue (same time to the restaurants bars of central macc). Hotel is perfectly fine, rooms for two nights are currently going for £67.

It was really great to meet some of the players I met online, we all went out for dinner friday and saturday which was nice. Two good solid days of play but probably a bit more relaxed than a formal tournament so as my first face to face I thought it was great.
