So at the halfway stage in my mini game called tell us a bit about yourself - the clear leader is Gunther for although a rant and sabre rattle is not new. No one else has even attempted to play - No one will show a card - very cagey! lol :-(

Jack has made half an effort by attempting to freak everyone out. I am scared!

Come on Phleg : Nobody knows you - what is Macclesfield like - is this your . 1st toruney fTF? Anything to hang my hat on

Why are you scared? Wasn't that the sense of the game? :?

You wanted me to speak Latin, right? And no, I don't live on the Dip board, I just use it as my navigational chart when sailing. 8-)

Really, terribly sorry, I didn't know the game was called "tell us about yourself". At least I have revealed my face, right? Not easy with such a face, I'm sure you understand.

Hi Dib, well, what can I say? I am but a humble Maxonian with a dog, a daughter and too much time on my hands! I also sail, so after Jack's most recent comment I am picturing him bent over his Dip board, carefully inking in new navigational hazards from the Notices to Mariners...

I rediscovered Diplomacy by accident in July after an absence of 30 years (last played as a teenager, I'm not ancient just yet!). I was reminded of it by a friend at a board-games night at my house (MaccCon anyone?!) and decided to look it up, and fate brought me here.

I then went on to solo my first game, as Austria. That gave me both an over-inflated sense of Austria's prospects, and an even more over-inflated sense of my own ability. Whoops!
Needless to say, the last 4 months have been a solid exercise in correcting THOSE misconceptions (particularly the second!)
So far I have managed to avoid playing the Big Guns of Diplomacy (pun intended), but I expect MidCon (yep, my first F2F) to finish the process and put me very firmly in my place. I can't wait!

Ok, ok, ok.... so you want random facts about us Dib.

Well.... I was once on...... (wait for it)....... CRIMEWATCH ("sleep well and don't have nightmares"). Sue Cook and Nick Ross appealing to us to solve unresolved crimes.

I had been coming home after a night shift, when an armed gang tried to rob an Edinburgh Asda.

I had to do an elaborate Pootle voiceover whilst they showed a reconstruction of my journey.

I was played by a tall, blond, slim glamorous actress driving a large BMW (I am small, fat, dark and drove a comedy (Citroen AX) car at the time).

Crimewatch Appearance....... My television debut.

I once met Jimmy Nail. In a night club in Newcastle. He autographed my fag packet.
