He is Chris Martin, AKA Dancing Queen, AKA DQ. Former WDC Champion. All around great great guy, one of the few players that can solo on a board full of top players. Or, he is at least taking on that personae and I have no reason to doubt.

And yes, he made the videos. He made the decision to do that rather than participate in the WDC.

Yes, DQ is the narrator. He went to WDC, but did not participate to focus on making the videos. Though getting on the final board has an element of luck and there was a lot of strong competition, I imagine if he had participated, he would have stood a very solid chance of getting on the final board.

Ok...that narrator was cool...he did the narration of the live stream as well.

I think you are thinking of Eric Mead, who is one of the two people from DiplomacyCast - Nathan Barnes (France in the videos) being the other one. Matt Shields was also online with the live streaming.

I'm the guy doing the commentary on the videos. http://www.world-diplomacy-database.com/php/results/player_fiche.php?id_player=942

I was going to say its been a while since I won anything outright, but I see I won DipCon last year.

As for the chances I could have been on the top board this year, let me say, it was a high-caliber event, and plenty of good players - excellent players! - did not make it, from Tom Kobrin to Grant Steel to David Hood to Adam Sigal to - well, the list is too long. You need skill and luck. John Gramyluh, who had a solo victory, didn't make the top board!

He's one of the best TDs in the business. And he'll have his shot again at Oxford in July!

Yeah, felt bad for John Gramila.
