November 4-6 @Killington, VT - Diplomacy Tournament

http://www.carnagecon.com/

Three rounds of Diplomacy, Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Saturday evening. Awards ceremony Sunday morning. Lots of awards.

I expect there will be four boards a round, maybe more.

Great venue

Very good players. Last year's results. Couple of WDC champs and WDC final board players in attendance.

Other activities for spousal or offspring units

If you live anywhere close, you will not regret coming to the tournament!

I'm making it up again this year, and can't recommend the venue and the staff highly enough. Some good diplomacy will be played, and much fun will be had!

Good times as always. 5 boards per round, which is remarkable given how far the venue is from everything! Dave Maletsky does a great job of organizing.

Yep, it was dyno-mite!

Seriously though, DQ humbly did not mention that he crushed it, taking home the tournament championship after not competing at the WDC. Fifteen total boards, ~40 players, and games were adjacent to the resort bar for an endless supply of alcohol!

I felt I had a good tournament. Survived all three boards, board topped one and solid results on the others. Found a nice TSA paper in my luggage as the hardware piqued their interest.

Not sure I liked the new seeding method as I had little choice of boards in the second and third rounds. But, really a minor quibble.

How did you do, Nick?
