Hello every one! (Including those of you who have just added yourself to the map this December)
Recently (out of sheer boredom) I made a playful change to the “Location of Players” map on the F2F forum.
The map was my idea(implemented by DOI), so I am unapologetic.
But then I realized that a number of you may have placed your markers on the map and have not been back there in a long time. Some of you may have moved in that time and some of you may no longer be active on the site.
Because (as I said) the map was my idea, I do feel a little bit of obligation to it.
So I am taking it upon myself to make sure that it is still up to date and if necessary, clean it up a bit.
So, this is what I want from all of you . . . .
If you have moved or would like to otherwise edit your marker;
Please do so independently. If you are able to edit your own marker so yourself I would appreciate it if you did.
Once you have done so, please PM me to let me know you have updated your location and any other info you want on your marker.
Likewise, if you want your maker removed;
Please do so yourself and then PM me so I can also cross you off my list
If you do not want your marker moved or removed.
You also should PM me so I can cross you off my list.
If you cannot edit the map and you NEED me to do so for you;
I would be happy to do so, just PM me and it will be done.

Lastly, if you do not contact me before Feb. 1st 2011;
I will delete your marker or perhaps move it to the Bermuda Triangle!

NOTE; I am doing this independently and if Avalanche tells me that he does not want me to go about deleting or moving someone’s marker without their consent, then I won’t. But if your unresponsive to my PM then you’re not likely to respond to someone looking you up for a F2F so what is the purpose of having a marker on the F2F map? I will also extend the deadline if Avalanche wants, but I would prefer if this process did not drag on to long.
Regards,
President Muffley
P.S.
It occurs to me that this is going to flood my PM box.
For any one (including myself) that might want to do this again one year from now,
I recommend, if Avalanche approves, that it might be better to have a clean slate policy for each New Year. That is, in the last week of each calendar year a designated “map cleaner” deletes all the markers and players are then personally responsible for re-staking their location on the map. Some may not like this idea however, but I don’t think we want the map to become cluttered with players who are no longer on the site or can’t be somehow reached via this site for a F2F game. Just a thought anyway.
