F2F in Chicago

Postby esol927 » 03 Jun 2010, 21:05

I'm a new player on the site, and in f2f games, but I'm already hooked. My local game store in chicago has playing space as well as a lending copy of the game. The location is Chicagoland Games, at 5550 N. Broadway (Just on the corner of Broadway and Bryn Mawr, off the Bryn Mawr Red Line stop). If anyone is interested in playing a f2f game on a saturday or sunday, please let me know!

Diplomacy in CHICAGO!?!?! :o

Capone: A man becomes preeminent, he's expected to have enthusiasms. Enthusiasms, enthusiasms... What are mine? What draws my admiration? What is that which gives me joy? Baseball! A man stands alone at the plate. This is the time for what? For individual achievement. There he stands alone. But in the field, what? Part of a team. Teamwork... Looks, throws, catches, hustles. Part of one big team. Bats himself the live-long day, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and so on. If his team don't field... what is he? You follow me? No one. Sunny day, the stands are full of fans. What does he have to say? I'm goin' out there for myself. But... I get nowhere unless the team wins.

Hoods: Team!

(Capone then beats one of the men to death with a baseball bat)

Very clever, Mr. Smart...

They've been around for years. And I'm sure they'd love fresh blood. Plus, they hold a tournament in the fall.... see you there!

I can probably make it Sunday around 11:00. Let me know if that fits in. I don't know whats a bigger rush, playing F2F or a game store that gives you a place to play and a copy of the game to use. :o

If it wasn't soccer season, and I wasn't a ref, and therefore wasn't reffing soccer on Saturday, this would totally be worth a 3 1/2 hour drive. But it is, and I am, so I am, so I can't. Sorry.

Hey Flatley... where are you? I used to be right there (Granville and Winthrop). I'm now in E-Town.
Arthae and I have been talking about a FtF game for a while now. Also, Mr. Edi Birsan turned me on to a group that plays once or twice a month in Chicago. I'll have to hunt for their link and I'll post it here. I am down for FtF game in general. I can't committ during the Hawk's season :D
